    SKM is responsible for the elevated viaduct design for Section 4, which runs from Sungai Rasau to the New North Klang Straits Bypass interchange, which is approximately 4.5 km in length.

    SKM has been involved in the Clermont project since 2004 when we were commissioned by Rio Tinto Coal Australia to undertake a feasibility study for the new mine, including the design of a dedicated coal preparation plant.

    Mt Nimba Iron Ore Mine, West Africa

    SKM is undertaking the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the railway to deliver the ore to port in Liberia, West Africa, to support the export of iron ore from the Nimba mines in Guinea.
  8. Obuasi Mine

    Obuasi Gold Mine, Ghana

    SKM most recently inspected and prepared a scope of work for the related underground infrastructure and materials handling systems. In addition, SKM provided project management, construction management and project controls support to the mine.

    The $450 million Kingsgrove to Revesby Quadruplication (K2RQ) Project will provide two additional rail network tracks (each 6.5 km long).

  12. Cerrejon expansion Columbia

    Cerrejón Coal Mine, Colombia

    SKM, in a 50-50 joint venture with SNC-Lavalin, is providing Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management (EPCM) and Pre-Commissioning Services to expand the mine coal handling facilities and infrastructure at the Cerrejon Coal Mine P40 Expansion Project in northern Colombia. The project includes rail and port facilities at Cerrejon’s Puerto Bolivar complex, 180 kilometres away.
  13. Jirau Hydropower

    SKM conducted an overview due diligence on the Jirau hydropower project. This included a site visit to assess the appropriateness of the project design, in particular the anticipated long term integrity of the structures and the technology selection; and review the construction schedule and cost.

    SKM has played an active role in supporting the management of the ground and surface water resources of Australia's major river basin, the Murray-Darling Basin.
  15. Shell Retail Network Programme

    Shell Retail Network Programme

    Shell employs SKM to manage the construction of new service stations and retail outlets across a growing list of countries in Asia, Europe and Africa. SKM's role starts with assisting Shell to obtain any necessary authority approvals for each new retail site and ends with handing over the completed facility.
  16. Sydney desalination plant

    Sydney Desalination Plant, Australia

    Sydney's Desalination Plant was named "Desalination Plant of the Year" at the 2011 Global Water Awards in Berlin. The Sydney Plant, which can produce 250 million litres a day, is one of the largest reverse osmosis plants in the world, and the design involved the civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines
  17. Burj Khalifa

    Burj Khalifa, Dubai

    The Burj Khalifa (formally Burj Dubai) is the tallest free-standing structure on Earth. The tower design, derived from a desert flower, incorporates historical and cultural influences mixed with innovative technology.
  18. Hassyan I

    Hassyan I, Dubai

    SKM recently supported Marubeni and its consortium partner TAQA in their bid to the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) to develop the Hassyan I combined cycle power plant.
  19. Project Hobson

    Project Hobson, New Zealand

    Project Hobson is Watercare's project to replace the ageing sewer pipe that crossed Hobson Bay, with a 3km-long tunnel and new pump station in the Orakei Domain. The new tunnel and pump station provide for population growth in the area and will also increase recreational opportunities in the bay.

    Review of Third National Master Plan, Kuwait

    SKM Colin Buchanan prepared the first comprehensive masterplan for Kuwait in the 1960's which has been the guiding document for development in Kuwait.
