Education Facilities
Sinclair Knight Merz are the Program Managers for the Department of Education, Employment and Training (Victoria, Australia) State Wide Program for Construction and Transfer of Modular Buildings. A significant component of this program is the manufacture, delivery and installation of new classroom buildings. Work has also included:
Establishment of temporary building complexes for decanting on school construction sites, providing facilities for Administration, Library, Canteen, and Toilets, in addition to General Purpose Classrooms and Specialty Classrooms for Home Economics, Science, Technology and Arts.
Emergency accommodation in fire and storm damage situations.
Additional short or long term classroom additions to permanent buildings in response to changing enrolments.
Sinclair Knight Merz has worked with Education Queensland, Australia to establish a building standard and a program for the introduction of modular buildings, and has provided project management and design services to facilitate provision of prototype buildings at a of number of sites.
