As part of the Brisbane City Council's and State Government's commitment to provide Brisbane residents with an efficient, reliable, integrated public transport system, the Spatial Sector of Sinclair Knight Merz was asked to produce a full colour public transport directory that every Brisbane household could use.
The 56 page booklet included 24 pages of large-scale coverage maps and 8 pages of bus station and system maps. Sinclair Knight Merz working closely with the Brisbane City Council, carried out all the design, printing and delivery.
The Directory maps were produced using GIS applications with data supplied by the clients. Updates were carried out on the data by Sinclair Knight Merz to provide the latest information to the user.
Graphic design, map design and cartography, print management, printing plus deliver of over 400,000 directories to all households in Brisbane were also provided by Sinclair Knight Merz. The Sinclair Knight Merz project team met the very tight deadlines for both the production and delivery.
The client considered the Brisbane Public Transport Directory as one of its most successful publications.
Follow up work was provided in the form of route display maps for show on the Busway bus stations.
