Sinclair Knight Merz was engaged to assist in determining the most efficient way for the client to manage the complex maintenance processes associated with a large spatial dataset covering several diverse operational groups dispersed over a wide geographic area.

Sinclair Knight Merz conducted extensive research into both existing practices and current and future user needs. This largely took the form of in-depth interviews with both operational and management staff. Several options were proposed with details for each being discussed during a ‘workshop’. This workshop, orchestrated by Sinclair Knight Merz, involved active participation from the client’s senior management and resulted in consensus being achieved.
The resulting plan was subsequently implemented, producing an efficient set of standards for data maintenance as well as access to that data on an agreed company wide basis.
