The project involved the refitting of 5 floors (9250m2) of a landmark new build office block in the heart of the city providing two trading floors, additional office space and a 1MW Data Hall.
In addition to the landlords systems an additional 2MW power supply was required with a Tier III (N+1) no break 100% backup utilising rotary UPS.
New chiller plant was required at roof level to serve the trading floors, Comms Rooms and Data Hall. The rooms were served by a mixture of fan coil units, upflow and down flow close control cooling plant.
The resilience of the systems had to meet the Tier III requirements and as such they were designed to ensure that there were no single points of failure.
In addition to the standard Comms cabinets the clients brief required the installation of a number of Blade Server Cabinets each with an output of 20kW this in-turn required the latest technology in mechanical cooling to prevent the cabinets from over-heating.
- Full Tier III (N + 1) resilience
- Major issues with incorporating the required additional plant
- Rotary UPS no break power supply
- Full BMS control
- MCR with blade server equipment.
