Following SKM Minmetal’s EPCM contract on the 37ktpd expansion, this US $130 million expansion project involved engineering, procurement and inspection and covered water supply, a milling plant, flotation plant, tailings conveying and depositing, and process water reclaiming.

The scope of the contracted services covered three areas:

  • Detailed Engineering: with Quality Assurance for Los Bronces Phase I expansion project, which included reviewing and adapting Class II Basic Engineering, establishing design specifications, developing drawings, technical specifications, listings, calculation memoirs, take-offs, cost estimating associated with detailed engineering and all technical background necessary for project execution
  • Procurement Services: with Project Quality Assurance it included preparing a list of suppliers and full purchasing processes and schedules, drawing up technical documentation on requisitions and quotations, reception and response to technical queries; reception and custody of technical offers and their evaluation, including a technical recommendation to purchase; preparing quality inspection plans on equipment manufacture; expedite and control delivery and also reviewing certified drawings
  • Engineering Services during Project Construction: with Quality Assurance, included modifications to engineering drawings and documents originated during construction due to land conditions or operation of the facilitiesTechnical consultancy and inspection for project construction of the Los Bronces expansion.
