Sinclair Knight Merz was commissioned to undertake the production of a Preliminary Design Report for the Mandurah Regional Water Scheme SCADA. Mandurah is a rapidly expanding city about an hour’s drive south of Perth, which experiences significant influxes of tourists on weekends and holidays.
The work included surveys of the 31 proposed telemetry sites, review of the proposed communication links, preparation of a conceptual functional specification and a design report, including a detailed budget estimate.
The Mandurah Telemetry System project was the first that used the standardised design criteria set out in the client’s Telemetry Design Manual DE-6 (developed by Sinclair Knight Merz under another commission) and the four year periodic supply contract for telemetry systems with ABB.
Sinclair Knight Merz also assisted the client in preparing its internal Project Management Plan for this project.
