Sinclair Knight Merz provided transport planning and traffic engineering advice to secure planning permission for Apex key central London hotel.
The site, close to the Tower of London, had key traffic issues that the Corporation of London was concerned about.
These included the traffic to be generated by the proposed 130-room hotel, the profile and impact of service deliveries, including the environmental concerns of noise and nuisance, together with the provision for taxis and pedestrian access.
SKM undertook an evaluation of all the issues of concern and secured the Corporation’s agreement to remove all objections to the planning application. This resulted in the scheme receiving planning permission in May 2004.
