Pimpama Coomera Waterfuture Master Plan

The Pimpama Coomera Waterfuture Master Plan delivered a sustainable integrated urban water strategy, comprising drinking water, rainwater, stormwater, recycled water and wastewater services to a future community of up to 150,000 in a 5500 ha predominantly Greenfield development area.

This Master Plan was achieved by challenging current practices and constraints in consultation with Council and stakeholders to achieve practicable new engineering formats that produced more sustainable outcomes.

A community based Advisory Committee worked in collaboration with the project team to complete the assessment of numerous water initiatives and the multi criteria assessment of five alternate strategies.

The Pimpama Coomera Master Plan won the Global Grand Prize of the International Water Association, 2006 Project Innovation Award, Planning Projects Category, after winning the Southeast Asia Regional Awards.

SKM staff were seconded full time to GCW to undertake the central role of senior planning engineer.
