Stage 1 Facilities Requirements, Enoggera and Puckapunyal, Qld and Vic, Australia

The objective of Project Bushranger was to provide an integral ground mobility capability to selected infantry battalions within the Australian Defence Force. This capability was to be based on the provision of heavily protected personnel carrying trucks to these units. After a series of trials, ADI’s Bushmaster vehicle was selected for this role and 341 vehicles were procured and produced for Phase 3. Defence had identified facilities supporting the first batch of 122 vehicles may be needed at Enoggera, Qld, and Puckapunyal, Vic, within a short timeframe.
Given our previous knowledge of the project, Sinclair Knight Merz was appointed to develop documentation to detail the facilities requirement for this stage of the project as quickly as possible.
Sinclair Knight Merz visited all sites, consulted with a range of end-users and produced a report detailing the full facilities requirement including new works and a project program. Defence was able to use this report to determine its facilities acquisition strategy for Project Bushranger.
The involvement of Sinclair Knight Merz in Project Bushranger Phase 3, Stage 1 brings the following benefits to your project:
-
an understanding of Defence’s equipment acquisition process
-
knowledge of military standards for facilities and the ability to develop Defence facilities requirements
-
experience in Defence works approval procedures and the provision of supporting documentation.
