SKM has undertaken a number of comprehensive capacity studies for underground stations in London, including Euston and Euston Square. This work involved station surveys, the creation and calibration of detailed station models using PEDROUTE and the testing of alternative station layout and demand scenarios.
We have also reviewed the analysis of the station improvement proposals at Farringdon, Blackfriars and Finsbury Park to accommodate Thameslink 2000, including examination of evacuation times under a range of emergency situations. SKM also prepared business cases to justify both major and minor station upgrade schemes across the network.
