Sinclair Knight Merz was commissioned by Orbit Developments to undertake the design associated with the Middlebrook Retail Park, including an ASDA superstore and cinema, located adjacent to the Reebok Stadium which is home to the Bolton Wanderers Football Club.
The project also included the design of the surrounding commercial developments Enterprise Park 3 and the Parklands Development.
Sinclair Knight Merz was responsible for the civil engineering design for all the site works, including:
- Bulk earthworks incorporating ground engineering and soil stabilisation
- Foul and surface water drainage infrastructure
- Plot drainage
- Utility services coordination
- Design of pavements and hard landscaping elements.
In addition to core design services, Sinclair Knight Merz carried out initial site appraisals utilising the skills of environmental scientists, development planners and traffic engineers.
