
Sinclair Knight Merz joined with Bechtel Aviation Services to prepare a revised Master Plan for Brisbane's International Airport.
In order to facilitate and encourage feedback on the Master Plan, the Corporation sought to have the original Plan revised and presented in a manner which was readily comprehensible to the general public, the aviation industry, and various government agencies.
The technical review was undertaken by Sinclair Knight Merz and Bechtel, involving forecasts of passenger and aircraft movements, airspace and airside area layouts, passenger terminal and ground support facilities planning, along with the overall layout for the present situation and future planning horizons (20 years, and 50 years).
Sinclair Knight Merz reviewed the infrastructure, land use and commercial development proposals, along with urban design aspects of the airport. The final draft of the Master Plan documentation was also prepared by the firm.
