 East-West Corridor Strategy

This project involved a holistic transportation study of the very busy East-West Corridor. The project required significant RMA planning and urban design inputs. SKM planning contributed as follows:

  • RMA Planning
  • Urban design
  • Transport Planning

Key RMA planning inputs included:

  • Input with regards to Resource Mangement planning issues associated with the East-West corridor (land-use expansion, development potential along route etc.)
  • Urban design input and guidance in relation to the East-West corridor
  • Overall report produced recommending a programme of route upgrading that would accommodate anticipated growth in traffic volumes resultant from the potential land use demand

End Result: Council accepted SKM’s recommendations
