The historic Round House building is to be redeveloped as a youth performing arts venue for Camden. The project will consist of the refurbishment and repair of the existing fabric and structure, particularly the cast and wrought iron roof structure.
In addition a radial and circumferential steelwork top hat to the roof will be added to improve the acoustic properties and support extra lighting gantry loads. A new gallery will be installed in the auditorium with access stairs, service ducts, etc. In the undercroft, the existing masonry structure will be modified to accommodate the youth centre and additional performance areas.
Externally, a service building will be constructed accommodating restaurant and bar facilities.
