The project comprises the development of a new headquarters for Voluntary Action Barnsley on a site within the Courthouse Campus of the town centre.
The new building is to provide improved accommodation under one roof to replace existing buildings.
The building provides 2,005m2 gross internal floor area on four levels.
The building will provide greatly improved facilities in a town centre location and is to be an exemplar within the sector. The design aims to exceed minimum criteria in respect of accessibility and sustainable design.
SKM is responsible for the whole M&E design for the project. The design proposal includes biomass heat generation and a mixed mode ventilation strategy complemented by night cooling facilities.
