Himalayan Ski Village, India
|

Sinclair Knight Merz was commissioned in the development of this eco-friendly mixed-use resort development project that aimed to develop potential ski slopes and tourism facilities in the lower Himalayas.
The proposed resort is located eight kilometres from the town of Manali, in the Kullu district in the state of Himachal Pradesh in India. This development will be the first fully planned and integrated resort destination to be built in India since the British colonial powers built their 'hill stations', which remain enormously popular throughout the subcontinent. The Village will provide an international quality holiday experience to as many as 4,500 visitors at any one time.
SKM is providing civil, structural, mechanical and environmental services to the project. Deliverables include:
- The production of hydrological low flow analysis to confirm the availability of water in the event of droughts
- Specifications for borehole tests
- Flow gauging
- River site surveys
- Inputs to water and wastewater supply and treatment facilities.
