Biosolids Management in Australia
Abstract
An independent overview of trends in biosolids management is provided. The experience has been similar in most countries, and is likely to evolve in a similar way in New Zealand. The key biosolids issues that are currently being debated in Australia are discussed and current trends in technology and management are proposed.
The most general conclusion is that future biosolids management will require increasingly careful planning and cooperation to provide an outcome that successfully balances community expectations with government responsibilities in a cost-effective manner.
