London City Airport
Abstract
This paper gives a brief outline of the modelling work undertaken for an extension of the Docklands Light Railway to London City Airport. It is structured to provide:
- Some background to London City Airport;
- A description of the Docklands Light Railway and its extension scheme;
- An outline of the forecasting tools used and the input assumptions to the forecasting process;
- A brief discussion of some of the more unusual forecasting issues such as premium fares and revenue allocation between different parties; and
- An outline of the scheme evaluation techniques employed.
The paper does not present any detailed results as project development is ongoing and further refinements to the forecasting work may be undertaken.
