Staffing in the Future
Abstract
This Paper seeks to review the salient features of the current Australian workforce with a particular emphasis on its generational make-up and inter-faces. It then seeks to recognise relevant ‘drivers’ of change within the Australian workforce with a view to understanding the future make-up and ‘drivers’ of the workforce in the future decade.
The Paper identifies the rapidly emerging national skill shortage as a key cause of the current move to a ‘buyers’ driven labour market.
