TERRORISM - Managing The Risks
Abstract
The risks facing businesses and industry from the threat of terrorism is on the rise. New Zealand and Australia are not immune to this threat. This paper presents firstly a very basic overview of terrorism and then describes a proven methodology by which the level of this threat can be determined for an organisation.
Being a staged process it ensures probity without excessive or unwarranted effort or expense. Using the concept of a Relative Vulnerability Index (RVI), the points of weakness in an organisation can be assessed for significance and then ranked. This approach is sound and results un sensible and understandable outputs enabling the appropriate mitigation strategies to be implemented.
