A New Look at Supply and Demand
Abstract
This presentation examines managing water supply and demand into the future from the perspective of two water authorities in Australia; Gold Coast Water and South East Queensland Water Corporation. Both are located within the fastest growing region of Australia, and over the past five years have experienced extensive water shortages and growing variability of rainfall due to drought, climate change and increasing water demand. Developing a strategy for a sustainable water future was paramount for both water authorities in the face of these new challenges, forcing them to re-evaluate their strategic direction and operations.
