Education and Training

SKM operates across the education sector, in the basic education, secondary, vocational/technical and tertiary sub sectors, providing services for the development of physical and social infrastructure, technical assistance, training and technology transfer. We have broad experience in more than a dozen countries including Samoa, Vanuatu, Lao PDR, Cambodia, the Philippines, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and South Africa.

Scholarships Program Management, Education planning and management, and monitoring & evaluation are core areas of specialisation for SKM and form the focus of most of our education sector projects. SKM possesses a comprehensive range of experience that includes the implementation of decentralised education management systems, the development and commissioning of Education Management Information Systems (EMIS), gender specific interventions, and the strengthening of financial and auditing processes.

In addition to our extensive experience in basic and secondary education SKM offers significant experience in development and management of Vocational Education and Training (VET). We have managed and implemented major VET reform programs in the People’s Republic of China (PRC), Indonesia, Philippines, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Viet Nam. SKM is currently managing key coordination and monitoring functions for a major AusAID initiative in the Pacific, the Australia Pacific Technical College (APTC).
