Colin Buchanan have been appointed to prepare a detailed masterplan for three strategic sites within the broader Gosport Waterfront development area as further supporting evidence to their Strategic Masterplan Report tabled to the Council in November 2010.
Colin Buchanan have been appointed to prepare a detailed masterplan for three strategic sites within the broader Gosport Waterfront development area as further supporting evidence to their Strategic Masterplan Report tabled to the Council in November 2010. This design work will be informed by their work already prepared in terms of an Outline Transport Strategy and an Outline Tourism & Heritage Strategy. The Council has recognised the need to create a long-term regeneration, investment and employment strategy for the Gosport Bus Station site, the MoD Royal Clarence Yard site and Endeavour Quays to fundamentally change the existing socio-economic circumstances within its Town Centre. The first report identified a short, medium and long-term strategy to deliver change and growth within Gosport Waterfront that would, over time, have an economic benefits for the High Street and the Borough in general. Colin Buchanan will to continue the engagement with Stakeholders to ensure mutual support for the Masterplan prior to undertaking a second Public Exhibition in April. Colin Buchanan undertook an extensive Public Exhibition in March 2010 which was very well attended, with over 75% public support for the Consultant's proposals to enact change.
