Asset Management

Asset Management

According to the Institute of Asset Management – “Asset Management is the art and science of making the right decisions”. It goes on to state that, “A common objective is to minimise the whole of life cost of assets, but there may be other critical factors such as risk or business continuity to be considered objectively in this decision making”.

PAS55:2008 - ASSET MANAGEMENT has been developed as a Publically Available Standard to capture the increasing international consensus of the required good practice on the management of physical assets.

Institute of Asset Management SKM has recently been appointed by the Institute of Asset Management as an Endorsed Assessor able to undertake Gap Analysis and Certification of an organizations asset management systems to PAS55. This recognises both our corporate experience and the skills and experience of our professionals in the field of asset management.

Our gap analysis is aimed at companies that require a formal assessment of their systems and processes to identify the areas that need improvement to achieve PAS55 certification. SKM can provide the technical support and guidance required to revise your systems and processes to build a robust asset management system.

For clients wanting existing asset management policies, systems and processes to be certified to PAS55, SKM can undertake detailed evidenced based assessments of the maturity of these systems using the IAM PAS55 Assessment Methodology (PAM). Where the required standards are achieved SKM will issue certificates of compliance supported by ongoing compliance surveillance.

This new service compliments our advisory consulting track record in the utility sector, both regulated and deregulated.
